Youth and Transcending towards a “well teched future” requires well teched brains. This is done by our brilliant leader Mr Kwendesa.
Phillip Kwendesa is the founder and CEO of TinkerTech, a company whose goal is to empower students to be makers through invention and creativity. His company is leading in advanced manufacturing, prototyping and design of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) projects in partnership with local and abroad universities, including polytechnics and high schools.
Kwendesa is an engineer, part time singer-songwriter and one of the leaders of the open hardware movement. His career is centered on making education and innovation more accessible to people around the country. Since 2016, Kwendesa has supervised, lectured and advised extensively on how to get more girls into STEM, including earmarking one of his students Colleen Chibanda to participate at the African Girls Can CODE Initiative, a joint programme of the African Union Commission (AUC), UN Women Ethiopia and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Ethiopia.
Kwendesa has received countless awards and scholarships among them a master’s and undergraduate degree in Networks and Systems of Telecoms from Tlemcen University in Algeria.
Chengetai Kadenge is an experienced Java EE Developer/Postilion Software Engineer with a demonstrated working experience in the Telecommunications and higher education industry. He is goal oriented and focused on what he does.
Currently he is a software developer at Liquid Telecom and is responsible for developing software interfaces that are integrated to the payment system in the country. He’s specialty is in programming/software development, focusing on JAVA and adaptable to at least 5 more languages. He holds a master’s degree in Advanced Software Technology.
Kadenge has integrated countless industrial projects to the Econet platform including ZINWA, ZESA, ECOBANK, FCB to mention but a few.
In his spare time, Kadenge is a vivid movie goer, soccer fanatic and likes driving fast and he always coins the statement (If it was in another life time I will rather be a Dakar or F1 driver)
